Huwaida Arraf

U.S. House, Michigan Congressional District 10

PR

From Ballotpedia: "Huwaida Arraf (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Michigan's 10th Congressional District. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on August 2, 2022."

UPDATE: Huwaida lost in the Dem primary. This campaign will be a tough one for Progressives to put in the win column, but it will be worth it to get this dynamic activist in the US Congress. In the Democratic primary on August 2nd, Huwaida will compete against four other Democrats. If she wins the primary, she will compete against a Republican and Libertarian in the General Election on November 8th which might be favorable for her since the Libertarian vote will likely pull from the Republican candidates. With recent redistricting District 10 has lost much of the conservative MI thumb that was previously included and now seems to be mainly northern Detroit suburbs. Cook rates the District as Lean Republican but it still seems this race may be competitive again based on the current District make up. Progressives should be supporting Arraf NOW in order that she can build her base going into the August 2nd primary. Progressives in her District should be getting out the vote for her and voting for her in both the primary and in the General Election on November 8th.
