2022 race briefing
Wendy Brawley took office in the South Carolina House of Representatives for District 70 in June 2017. She was re-elected in 2018 and 2020, each time with more than 98% of the vote.
In the June 14, 2022 Democratic primary, Brawley faced another incumbent House member, Jermaine Johnson, along with Bridgette Jones Larry. Johnson won 50.1% to Brawley’s 47.8%, with Larry at 2.1%.
Johnson went on to win the November 8, 2022 general election with 76.4% of the vote, and Brawley left office on November 14, 2022. Our Revolution backed Brawley in her 2022 race, and this card keeps PolRev’s record of it.
