Candidate briefing
Angie Nixon is a Florida state representative from Jacksonville and the 2026 Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate. A former union organizer, she has represented House District 13 since 2020 and won the August 18 primary over Alex Vindman — a major upset after being outspent by more than ten to one.
Nixon campaigned on Medicare for All, free childcare, and housing costs that have priced working Floridians out of their own state. She is only the second Black woman to win a major-party U.S. Senate nomination in Florida. She faces Republican Sen. Ashley Moody in November.
Why Political Revolution supports her: she proved a working-class, democratic-socialist message can beat the establishment even in a long-shot statewide race.
