This will be a difficult campaign for Sharon but might be winnable. The District has expanded with redistricting but is basically unchanged. In the 2020 election, the incumbent Republican won against a Democratic challenger by only 46 votes. Sharon faces in the August 2nd primary the incumbent Republican, a Republican challenger and an Independent candidate. It is possible that the Republican challenger will pull votes from the incumbent and result in Sharon winning the primary. She will then likely face a candidate in the General Election on November 8th. Progressives in Sharon’s District should be supporting her NOW to insure that she can win the primary. Sharon will need continued support through the General Election to insure that she can win November 8th.
