Rachel Ventura is the Democratic state senator for Illinois’s 43rd District, sworn in on January 11, 2023 after defeating Republican Diane Harris in the November 8, 2022 general election (56.05%–43.95%). She had won the Democratic primary over incumbent Eric Mattson. DSA-backed and progressive, she was re-elected on November 5, 2024; her current term runs into early 2029, so she is not on the 2026 Illinois Senate ballot. PolRev supported her campaigns.
