Natalie Figueroa represents New Mexico Senate District 18. She assumed office on January 1, 2025, after winning the November 5, 2024 election with 15,131 votes (58 percent) to Kurstin S. Johnson’s 10,938 (42 percent). Her Senate term runs through December 31, 2028. Before the Senate she represented House District 30 from 2019 through 2024. A Spanish teacher by profession, she serves on the Senate Education Committee. Progressives have a sitting education senator in District 18 through 2028.
