Montana
Tom Winter
U.S. House, Montana Congressional District 1
From Ballotpedia: " Tom Winter (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Montana's 1st Congressional District. He is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 7, 2022."
With redistricting, Montana has gained a second Congressional Seat. District 1 has no incumbent running, and could become a Progressive win if Tom could get past 2 challengers in the Democratic Primary on June 7th, and then, a Republican opponent in the General Election November 8th. Whether this can actually happen is an unknown, but it seems that Montanans might want a progressive elected from their state. Time will tell.
Mary Ann Dunwell
State Senate, Montana State Senate District 42
From Ballotpedia: "Mary Ann Dunwell (Democratic Party) is a member of the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 84. She assumed office on January 5, 2015. Her current term ends on January 2, 2023.
Dunwell (Democratic Party) is running for election to the Montana State Senate to represent District 42. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 7, 2022."
Mary is running unchallenged in the Democratic Primary on June 7th: the Democratic incumbent was term limited. She faces a Republican challenger in the General Election on November 8th. The District has leaned Blue in the past, but redistricting might have an impact. Hopefully Mary Ann can keep the state Senate seat Democratic, and make it better because it has been filled with a Progressive endorsed Democrat.
Shane Morigeau
State Senate, Montana State Senate District 48
From Ballotpedia: "Shane Morigeau (Democratic Party) is a member of the Montana State Senate, representing District 48. He assumed office in 2020. His current term ends on January 2, 2023.
Morigeau (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the Montana State Senate to represent District 48. He is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 7, 2022."
Shane as the incumbent faces no challenger in the June 7th Primary, but will face a Republican challenger in the General Election November 8th. The District has trended Democratic prior to the recent redistricting. Progressives can help get him over the top in the General Election.
Andrea Olsen
State Senate, Montana State Senate District 50
From Ballotpedia: "Andrea Olsen (Democratic Party) is a member of the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 100. She assumed office on January 5, 2015. Her current term ends on January 2, 2023.
Olsen (Democratic Party) is running for election to the Montana State Senate to represent District 50. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 7, 2022."
After serving eight years in the Montana State House, Andrea is termed out and is now running for the State Senate SD 50 which includes the House District she served in. Andrea won the June primary against the Democratic challenger she faced. She will face a Republican challenger in the General Election on November 8th. The District which is unchanged to date and will not be changed in time for the General Election due to redistricting has voted Democratic in the past. Hopefully, the Progressives in the state and in Senate District 50 can provide sufficient support to get this Progressive endorsed candidate elected to this Montana State Senate Seat.
Sharon Stewart-Peregoy
State House, Montana State House District 42
From Ballotpedia: "Sharon Stewart-Peregoy (Democratic Party) is a member of the Montana House of Representatives, representing District 42. She assumed office in 2017. Her current term ends on January 2, 2023.
Stewart-Peregoy (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the Montana House of Representatives to represent District 42. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 7, 2022."
Rep Stewart-Peregoy has no challengers in the Democratic Primary, so she will be on the ballot in the General Election in November. There is one challenger running in the Republican Primary who she will likely face in the General Election. Progressives in Montana will want to keep this candidate in office, and it may be a tough go since the state trended Republican in the 2020 election.
Nevada
Allen Rheinhart
U.S. Senate, Nevada
From Ballotpedia: "Allen Rheinhart (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. Senate to represent Nevada. He is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 14, 2022."
Allen faces the incumbent and two Democratic challengers in the Democratic primary on June 14th. Progressives should support Allen NOW so that he can win the primary. If Allen wins the primary, he will face one Republican, two Independents, one Independent American Party, and one Libertarian candidate for the Nevada Senate seat. This will be a tough campaign to win. Progressives support and votes will be needed for Allen to advance.
Amy Vilela
U.S. House, Nevada Congressional District 1
BNC BNC PY DSA PY JD PY OR OR PY PR PY
From Ballotpedia: " Amy Vilela (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent Nevada's 1st Congressional District. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 14, 2022."
Amy is in a very tough Primary challenging a popular incumbent. The 1st Congressional District has lost some of its Democratic strength as a result of redistricting, and many Democrats are concerned that a Progressive can't win in the General Election. Nevada was one of the states that Bernie Sanders won in 2020, so there are definitely Progressives in the state. The question is will enough of them get out to support Amy's Primary bid on June 14th, and if she wins the primary, her election in the General Election November 8th? Nevada Progressives: here is your chance to actually have a bona fide endorsed Progressive Democrat in the Nevada congressional delegation. What will you do to support Amy's bid?
Kimi Cole
Lieutenant Governor, Nevada
From Ballotpedia: "Kimi Cole (Democratic Party) is running for election for Lieutenant Governor of Nevada. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 14, 2022."
Kim faces 3 other Democrats in the June 14th Primary, with one currently sitting on the position after the incumbent took a job in the Biden Administration. The other candidates are not Progressives. With the large population of Progressives in the state, it may be possible for Kimi to pull off a win in the Primary. But Progressives need to be out now helping Kimi to build her base and get them out voting in the Primary.
Edgar Flores
State Senate, Nevada State Senate District 2
From Ballotpedia: "Edgar Flores (Democratic Party) is a member of the Nevada State Assembly, representing District 28. He assumed office on November 5, 2014. His current term ends on November 9, 2022.
Flores (Democratic Party) is running for election to the Nevada State Senate to represent District 2. The Democratic primary for this office on June 14, 2022, was canceled."
Edgar will not appear on the Dem Primary ballot since he is the only Democrat running for this position. He will face a Republican opponent in the November 8th General Election. Progressives should be helping him to build his base to insure his election in November to the state senate.
Julie Pazina
State Senate, Nevada State Senate District 12
From Ballotpedia: "Julie Pazina (Democratic Party) is running for election to the Nevada State Senate to represent District 12. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 14, 2022."
Julie faced one other Democrat in the June 14th Primary, and she won the Primary. She now face a Republican incumbent. Republicans have complained that recent redistricting helped Democrats. Let's hope that this might be the case for this District. Progressives should plan to support Julie in both the Primary and then if she wins the Primary, in the General Election on November 8th.
