California
Aisha Wahab
State Senate, California State Senate District 10
From Ballotpedia: "Aisha Wahab is an at-large member of the Hayward City Council in California. She assumed office in 2018. Her current term ends in 2022.
Wahab (Democratic Party) is running for election to the California State Senate to represent District 10. She is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
Aisha competes with five other candidates in the June 7th primary although her website indicates that she is endorsed by the retiring incumbent to succeed her and she is the only candidate formally endorsed by the CA Dem Party. If Progressives want to see her in the CA State Senate, they should make sure she is in the top 2 in the June 7th primary.
Kim Carr
State Senate, California State Senate District 36
From Ballotpedia: "Kim Carr is an at-large member of the Huntington Beach City Council in California. She assumed office in 2018. Her current term ends in 2022.
Carr (Democratic Party) is running for election to the California State Senate to represent District 36. She is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
There is no incumbent in the race at this time and Kim Carr is running against just one other candidate, a Republican. This district has been Republican in the past, so a win might be difficult.
Jennifer Esteen
State House, California State House District 20
From Ballotpedia: "Jennifer Esteen (Democratic Party) is running for election to the California State Assembly to represent District 20. She is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
Part of what Our Rev refers to as the "CA Squad", Jennifer is running with two Democrats and one Republican for this Assembly seat and will need Progressive support in the June primary. The District has voted Democratic in the past but redistricting seems to have contracted the District and expanded it west, and it is unknown what impact this will have on election results. Progressives need to get out to support and vote for Jennifer in the primary on June 7th, and if she comes in in the top two, in the General Election on November 8th.
James Coleman
State House, California State House District 21
From Ballotpedia: "James Coleman (Democratic Party) is running for election to the California State Assembly to represent District 21. He is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
James is running in a total field of seven candidates in the Primary so it is definitely important to vote for him in the Primary. There is no current incumbent in this race.
Alex Lee
State House, California State House District 24
From Ballotpedia: "Alex Lee (Democratic Party) is a member of the California State Assembly, representing District 25. He assumed office on December 7, 2020. His current term ends on December 5, 2022.
Lee (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the California State Assembly to represent District 24. He is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
Alex's primary will be competitive, but hopefully this young and upcoming progressive politician will have the help he needs to get re-elected in this District.
Ash Kalra
State House, California State House District 25
From Ballotpedia: "Ash Kalra (Democratic Party) is a member of the California State Assembly, representing District 27. He assumed office in 2016. His current term ends on December 5, 2022.
Kalra (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the State Assembly to represent District 25. He is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
Ash has one challenger, a Republican, in the Jun 7th primary. It looks like he is a heavily Democratic District. Hopefully, they get out and vote for him!
Jon Wizard
State House, California State House District 30
From Ballotpedia: "Jon Wizard (Democratic Party) is running for election to the California State Assembly to represent District 30. He is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
There is no current incumbent running in this District but Jon is on the Primary Ballot with four other candidates. Progressives should try to insure that Jon is in the top two in the Primary vote on June 7th.
Nicole Lopez
State House, California State House District 42
From Ballotpedia: " Nicole López (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent California's 42nd Congressional District. She is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
Nicole is running in the June 7th Primary along with 5 other Democrats, 1 Green Party candidate, and 1 Republican. It looks like it will be a challenge for her to come in as one of the top 2 in the June 7th Primary. Progressive action is needed now to help Nicole build her base to get out the vote in the June 7th Primary.
Eloise Reyes
State House, California State House District 50
From Ballotpedia: "Eloise Gomez Reyes (Democratic Party) is a member of the California State Assembly, representing District 47. She assumed office in 2016. Her current term ends on December 5, 2022.
Reyes (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the California State Assembly to represent District 50. She is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
Before redistricting this was a heavily Democratic District. Hopefully, the base will come out and vote for Eloise in the June 7th Primary and the General Election in November.
Miguel Santiago
State House, California State House District 54
From Ballotpedia: "Miguel Santiago (Democratic Party) is a member of the California State Assembly, representing District 53. He assumed office on December 1, 2014. His current term ends on December 5, 2022.
Santiago (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the California State Assembly to represent District 54. He is on the ballot in the primary on June 7, 2022."
Miguel appears to be running unopposed in the Jun 7th primary!
