Brianna Westbrook was born in Mesa, Arizona, in 1984. She has served as a vice chair of the Arizona Democratic Party — the first transgender person elected to that role in a state Democratic Party — and previously as political director of Equality Arizona. She has also worked as a technology consultant in the Phoenix area.
In the August 2, 2022 Democratic primary for Arizona House District 5 (two seats), incumbents Amish Shah (31.8%) and Jennifer Longdon (24.4%) advanced. Westbrook received 14.6% of the vote (7,181), behind Sarah Liguori (18.5%) and ahead of Aaron Marquez (10.6%).
