2022 race briefing
Dave Myers first ran for San Diego County Sheriff in 2018, losing the June 5 primary to incumbent Bill Gore 55.2% to 44.8%.
In 2022 he ran again for what was then an open seat. In the June 7, 2022 primary he finished third of seven candidates with 19.0% of the vote, behind Kelly Martinez at 37.5% and John Hemmerling at 20.4%. Martinez won the November 8 general election.
