    Garlin Gilchrist II is Michigan’s lieutenant governor and the 2026 Democratic nominee for Secretary of State after winning the April state convention. He is also on the Working Families Party Michigan slate. On November 3 he faces Republican Anthony Forlini and Green Party candidate Eric Borregard. Progressives should back Gilchrist to defend mail voting, voter data, and professional election administration.
