Kira Alejandro won the September 15, 2026 Democratic primary for New Castle County Council District 3 with 3,314 votes (68.8%) over Kyle R. Grantham (1,505; 31.2%). Backed by the Working Families Party, she campaigns for responsible land-use development, data-center accountability, and lower household bills across Yorklyn, Hockessin, Pike Creek, and parts of Newark. On November 3 she faces Republican Melissa Brayman, the 2024 County Council President nominee. Political Revolution endorses Alejandro to put working families first on County Council.
