Troy Jackson is the 2026 Democratic nominee for U.S. Senate in Maine. A fifth-generation logger from Allagash and former president of the Maine Senate, he is running to unseat Republican Sen. Susan Collins.
Wikipedia records that Jackson served in the Maine House and Senate, including as Senate president from 2018 to 2024, after first entering politics following a 1998 logging blockade on the Canada–U.S. border. He ran for governor in 2026 and finished third in the Democratic primary. After Graham Platner won the June Senate primary and then withdrew in July, Maine Democrats nominated Jackson at a July 25 convention.
His campaign site describes him as a lifelong fighter for workers’ rights. Our Revolution has endorsed him to carry the progressive Senate campaign forward. Wikipedia also records an endorsement from the Maine chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America. He supports Medicare for All, a federal abortion right, and taking on corporate power in Washington.
