Candidate briefing
Bernadette Greene-Placentia is the 2026 Democratic nominee for Arizona’s 8th Congressional District. A long-haul truck driver and small-business owner, she won the July 21 primary and now faces Republican Rep. Abe Hamadeh in a northwest-Valley seat covering Peoria, Glendale, Surprise, and Sun City.
Greene-Placentia is running as a working-class challenger in a Republican-held district, with backing from Phoenix Metro DSA.
Why Political Revolution supports her: she is a worker, not a career politician, carrying a democratic-socialist campaign into a district the party usually writes off.
