    Candidate briefing

Will Lawrence is the 2026 Democratic nominee for Michigan’s 7th Congressional District. A climate and tenant-rights organizer from the Lansing area, he won the August 4 Democratic primary over Bridget Brink and Matt Maasdam and faces Republican Rep. Tom Barrett in November.

Our Revolution and the Working Families Party have endorsed him. Official Our Revolution pages also list him as William Lawrence.

Why Political Revolution supports him: he is the progressive nominee in a toss-up Michigan House seat after beating two establishment-backed primary opponents.
