Nevada
Max Berkley
Justice of the Peace, Las Vegas, Nevada
Max is running for Justice of the Peace Las Vegas Township Department 7. It appears that the incumbent is not running for re-election, and Max will compete with 2 other challengers in the Primary on June 14th. It is important that Progressives support Max in both the Primary, and if he comes in in the top two, in the General Election on November 8th.
Nadia Wood
Justice of the Peace, Las Vegas, Nevada
Nadia Wood is running for the Justice of the Peace Department 16 seat in Las Vegas. It appears that this is a new Department since there is no Department 16 currently listed at the website for the Las Vegas Justice Court. There are three other challengers for this seat, so it is important that Progressives plan to vote for Nadia in the June 14th Primary. If she comes in in the top two after the Primary, she will be on the ballot in the November 8th General Election. Progressives are again encouraged to get out and support Nadia's bid for this new office.
Richard "Tick" Segerblom
County Commissioner, Clark County, Nevada, Clark County Commission District E
From Ballotpedia: " Richard Segerblom (Democratic Party) (also known as Tick) is a member of the Clark County Commission in Nevada, representing District E. Segerblom assumed office in 2019. Segerblom's current term ends on January 2, 2023."
Tick has no challengers in the June 14th Primary and likely will not be on the Primary Ballot. He likely will face Republican opposition in the General Election on November 8th. Progressives should get out and vote for him in the General Election.
Jenny Brekhus
Mayor, Reno, Nevada
Jenny is running in a group of a total of eleven candidates for the Reno Mayor seat. Progressives must support her candidacy NOW in the June primary. If she can come in in the top two of these total eleven candidates, she will be on the ballot in the General Election on November 8th. Again, Progressives must support Jenny NOW in the primary.
Danielle Ford
County Board of Education, Clark County, Nevada
Brenda is the incumbent running for re-election to School Board Trustee, District D, in Clark County. Brenda competes against nine challengers in the June 14th Primary. Hopefully as incumbent, her base of support will be sufficient to get her a win with 50% of the vote in the June 14th Primary, or to the top two candidates in the Primary, and then, to a win the General Election November 8th.
Ozzie Fumo
District Attorney, Clark County, Nevada
Ozzie has been active in Nevada politics having served in the past in the Nevada State Assembly from 2016 to 2020, and then subsequently running for the state Supreme Court in 2020. After a disappointing loss, he is running for Clark County District Attorney.
Ozzie is a Progressive Democrat and will approach the District Attorney office with Progressive policies and priorities. He runs in the Primary on June 14th against incumbent Democrat Steve Wolfson. To date, it has been a contentious Primary campaign, but basically it boils down to whether a mainstream Dem or a Progressive would better serve the public in this position. Progressives should assist Ozzie NOW in the Primary. Clark County is highly Democratic and if Ozzie can win against the incumbent, he should win against a Republican candidate in the General Election on November 8th.
Linda Cavazos
County Board of Education, Clark County School District, Nevada
From Ballotpedia: " Linda Cavazos is a member of the Clark County Board of Trustees in Nevada, representing District G. She assumed office in 2017. Her current term ends in 2022."
Linda Cavazos' name will be on the Primary Ballot with 6 non-partisan challengers for her seat. She has the advantage of being an incumbent, but it is uncertain if this will help in the current political climate. It is important for Progressives in her District to support Linda in the Primary on June 14th so that either she wins election in the Primay with 50% of the vote or she comes in in the top two in order to be on the General Election Ballot on November 8th.
Karl Catarata
Board of Regents, Nevada
From Ballotpedia: " Karl Catarata is running for election to the Nevada Board of Regents to represent District 6. He is on the ballot in the primary on June 14, 2022."
Four candidates are running in the primary with likely the top two going to the General Election on November 8th. If the campaign has built a base of support, it is possible that Karl can make the top 2 in the Primary vote. District 6 Progressives will want to get out and vote for Karl in the June 14th primary election.
Ellie Roohani
District Court Judge, Clark County, Nevada
Ellie is running for Clark County District Court Judge Department 11. She was originally appointed to this post in December 2020 after the Judge in this position retired. She will have one challenger on the June primary ballot. Progressives should support her and vote for her in the primary, and if she is on the ballot again, in the General Election on November 8th.
Brenda Zamora
County Board of Education, Clark County, Nevada
Brenda is running for School Board Trustee, District D, in Clark County. Brenda competes against three challengers and the incumbent in the June 14th Primary. Hopefully, her base of support will be sufficient to give her a win in the June 14th Primary with 50% of the vote, or to get her in the top two candidate in the Primary, and then, to a win the General Election November 8th.
