Aisha Wahab is the U.S. representative for California’s 14th Congressional District and the Democratic nominee for a full term in November 2026. She won the August 18, 2026 special election to finish the term left open when Eric Swalwell resigned, and she faces Democrat Melissa Hernandez again on the November ballot.
Wahab is the first Afghan American elected to the California State Legislature. She served on the Hayward City Council before winning a State Senate seat in 2022, later becoming assistant majority leader. Our Revolution, Indivisible, the Working Families Party, and the Progressive Change Campaign Committee have endorsed her House campaign.
