2022 race briefing
Amy Cox was born in Kettering, Ohio. She studied at Miami University and Wright State University, earned a graduate degree from Indiana University East in 2011, and has worked as a science teacher and scientist.
She first ran for the Ohio House in 2020, losing the District 43 race to Republican Rodney Creech 54.2% to 45.8%. After redistricting she ran against Creech again in 2022 in District 40. She was unopposed in the August 2 Democratic primary, and Creech won the November 8, 2022 general election 71.7% to 28.3%.
In 2024 Cox won the Democratic primary for Ohio’s 10th Congressional District with 63.3% of the vote. Incumbent Republican Mike Turner defeated her in the November 5, 2024 general election, 57.6% to 39.2%. Our Revolution backed Cox in her 2022 race, and this card keeps PolRev’s record of it.
