2022 race briefing
Kina Collins studied at Louisiana State University and founded the Chicago Neighborhood Alliance. She has worked as a political organizer.
In the June 28, 2022 Democratic primary, Rep. Danny K. Davis defeated Collins 51.9% to 45.7%. She ran again in 2024 and finished third with 18.9% as Davis won renomination.
After Davis decided not to seek re-election in 2026, Collins ran for the open seat. She finished fourth in the March 17, 2026 Democratic primary with 9.5%, and La Shawn Ford placed first. PolRev covered her 2022 campaign, and this page remains as a record of that race.
