    Candidate briefing

Lateefah Simon represents California’s 12th Congressional District. A MacArthur Fellow and longtime Bay Area organizer, she has spent her career fighting poverty, criminalization, and inequality — from leading the Young Women’s Freedom Center to serving on BART’s board.

She won reelection on November 3, defeating fellow Democrat Jamie Joyce, according to NBC News projections.

Why Political Revolution supports her: she carries forward a proud progressive tradition in the East Bay with a record rooted in community power, not corporate PACs.
