2022 race briefing
Litesa Wallace represented District 67 in the Illinois House of Representatives from 2014 to 2019. A mental health counselor and professor with a Ph.D. in educational psychology, she co-founded the Rockford Anti-Racism Network.
In 2022 she ran for the open seat in Illinois’ 17th Congressional District. In the June 28, 2022 Democratic primary, Eric Sorensen won with 37.7% of the vote, and Wallace placed second with 23.3%.
Sorensen went on to win the seat that November. Our Revolution backed Wallace in the primary, and this card keeps PolRev’s record of the race.
