Lucas Kunce, a Marine Corps veteran and progressive Democrat, finished second in Missouri’s August 2, 2022 Democratic U.S. Senate primary behind Trudy Busch Valentine (about 38.3%–43.2%) and did not advance to the general election that year. He won the 2024 Democratic primary and lost the November 5, 2024 general election to incumbent Republican Josh Hawley (about 41.8%–55.6%). After 2024 he converted his campaign committee into a hybrid PAC and has not announced a 2026 Senate bid. PolRev covered his Senate campaigns. He is not on the 2026 ballot.
