2022 race briefing
Matt will be facing 4 other Democrats in the September 13th primary, one of which is the incumbent who was appointed after the elected Governor took a position in the Biden administration. Matt is fortunate in that he has name recognition having served as RI Secretary of State 2003 to 2007, and having run for Governor in 2018. Progressives should be planning to support Matt NOW in order that he will have sufficient support in the Primary to win. UPDATE: Unfortunately, Matt lost his primary bid.
