Nika will be running against four other Democrats in the primary on September 6th. Progressives in this senate District should be supporting her NOW so that she can build her base in the senate District, and win this competitive primary. If she wins the primary, she will effectively win the District because no one will be running against the Dem primary winner in the General Election on November 8th. Fortuitously, much of Nika’s old state house District appears to be part of the 2nd Suffolk District (encompassing portions of Brookline and heading SW), and likely she will maintain much of this base. With recent redistricting, the 2nd Suffolk District is slightly changed and voted Democratic in past elections. Progressives in her District should be working NOW to get out the vote for Nika in the primary. Progressives in her District should be planning to vote for her in the primary.
