2022 race briefing
Scott Comegys was born in Camden, Delaware. He earned an associate degree from Monroe Community College in 2016 and has worked as an alpaca farmer, a facilities manager at the University of Rochester, and an assessor’s clerk for the town of Palmyra.
Comegys ran for Assembly District 130 against Republican Brian Manktelow three times. Manktelow won in 2018 and 2020, and on November 8, 2022 he defeated Comegys, who ran on the Democratic and Working Families Party lines, 65.9% to 34.1%.
In 2024 Comegys ran for New York State Senate District 54 and lost the general election to incumbent Republican Pamela Helming, 64.5% to 35.5%. He ran for that seat again and narrowly lost the June 23, 2026 Democratic primary to Michael Mills. The PCCC backed Comegys in 2022, and this card keeps PolRev’s record of that race.
