    Candidate briefing

Will Lawrence is the U.S. representative-elect for Michigan’s 7th Congressional District. A climate and tenant-rights organizer from the Lansing area, he won the August 4 Democratic primary over Bridget Brink and Matt Maasdam and defeated Republican Rep. Tom Barrett on November 3, according to NBC News and Associated Press projections. Barrett conceded.

Our Revolution and the Working Families Party have endorsed him. Official Our Revolution pages also list him as William Lawrence.

Why Political Revolution supports him: he won a toss-up Michigan House seat as a progressive after beating two establishment-backed primary opponents.
