Declaration of Interdependence: New York Fights Back

In honor of Earth Day — and on the anniversary of the American Revolution — 50501 NY will join the Migrant March to Protect Migrants and the Planet (https://www.summerofheat.org/migrantmarch) in NYC.

Trump and his broligarchs treat human life—and the planet—as disposable. They want champagne, yachts, private jets, and tax cuts for the rich, while the rest of us struggle to survive.

We are taking to the streets under a bold new demand, a "Declaration of Interdependence" - recognizing that our survival depends on:

• Protecting migrants including climate-displaced Global South people, whose life, care and labor are the backbone of our city.

• Defending the planet that sustains all life: end all acts of extraction, plunder and violence of our mother earth.

• Billionaires Out of Our Lives and Our Governments:  Stopping billionaires whose continued existence brings death and destruction of our governments, communities and sovereign peoples.

We commit to creating a new normal — one built on interdependence, where we defend and uplift the most vulnerable. We know billionaires seek to claim both land and people as tools for their profit. But when we stand together — when we protect each other — we unlock a simple truth: we have every resource we need to thrive.

Our fates are intertwined — when ICE attacks migrants, when polluters poison neighborhoods, when billionaires cut our jobs, they attack us all.

This Earth Day weekend, we declare our interdependence and fight back as one.
