About this event
We the People, March for Democracy!
The McLennan County Democratic Party (MCDP) has taken on its largest project YET. We will gathering together for "We the People - March for Democracy", a rally and march, on April 27th from 1pm to 3pm at Indian Springs Park right next to the Suspension Bridge into the heart of Downtown Waco. We are hoping for about 1,000 participants. Our former Congressman, Chet Edwards, Mothers for Democracy founder, Nancy Thompson, former Texas Senator, Wendy Davis, Texas Democratic Party Chair, Kendall Scudder, and Texas State Senator James Talarico are among those speaking. At the conclusion of the Rally, we will line up and march across the Suspension Bridge and back over the Washington Ave Bridge and return to Indian Springs Park.
The goal of ‘We the People’ is to give opposition to Trump and the extremist Texas Republicans an opportunity to coalesce and show its strength. In other words, to bring everyone together. It will be an historic event!! Rise up and be heard.
