If she wins the primary, she will likely face the incumbent Republican. Progressives should plan to support her NOW so that she can win the primary, and if she wins the primary, should plan to continue to support her going into the General Election on November 8th. The 8th Congressional District has expanded slightly with redistricting, and it is uncertain the impact this will have on election prospects. A Democrat won the seat in 2016, but the Republican incumbent has held the seat since being elected in 2018.
