Linda Cavazos

County Board of Education, Clark County School District, Nevada

PR

From Ballotpedia: " Linda Cavazos is a member of the Clark County Board of Trustees in Nevada, representing District G. She assumed office in 2017. Her current term ends in 2022."

Linda Cavazos' name will be on the Primary Ballot with 6 non-partisan challengers for her seat. She has the advantage of being an incumbent, but it is uncertain if this will help in the current political climate. It is important for Progressives in her District to support Linda in the Primary on June 14th so that either she wins election in the Primay with 50% of the vote or she comes in in the top two in order to be on the General Election Ballot on November 8th.

Four candidates are running in the primary with likely the top two going to the General Election on November 8th. If the campaign has built a base of support, it is possible that Karl can make the top 2 in the Primary vote. District 6 Progressives will want to get out and vote for Karl in the June 14th primary election.

Ozzie Fumo

District Attorney, Clark County, Nevada

PR PR PY

Ozzie has been active in Nevada politics having served in the past in the Nevada State Assembly from 2016 to 2020, and then subsequently running for the state Supreme Court in 2020. After a disappointing loss, he is running for Clark County District Attorney.

Ozzie is a Progressive Democrat and will approach the District Attorney office with Progressive policies and priorities. He runs in the Primary on June 14th against incumbent Democrat Steve Wolfson. To date, it has been a contentious Primary campaign, but basically it boils down to whether a mainstream Dem or a Progressive would better serve the public in this position. Progressives should assist Ozzie NOW in the Primary. Clark County is highly Democratic and if Ozzie can win against the incumbent, he should win against a Republican candidate in the General Election on November 8th.

Cassandra and 2 other Democrats are running for the 3 seats in Strafford 4 in the Democratic primary on September 13th. Cassandra and these Democrats will face 3 Republicans running in the General Election on November 8th. Strafford 4 has been enlarged with recent redistricting, maintaining much of the original District but adding more area to include Hills Corner and Long Island. It is uncertain what the impact of the increased area will have on election prospects. Progressives should be supporting Cassandra to insure that she is able to win in the General Election. Progressives in her District should be getting out the vote and planning to vote for Cassandra in the November 8th General Election.
