New Mexico
Rudy Martinez
State House, New Mexico State House District 39
From Ballotpedia: "Rodolpho Martinez (Democratic Party) is running for election to the New Mexico House of Representatives to represent District 39. He is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 7, 2022."
Rudy was elected to this seat but then lost it to a Republican opponent in the last election. This is a race that Progressives might make the difference in if we get involved. There is one other Democratic candidate in the June 7th primary, and then if Rudy wins, he'll face the incumbent in the General Election on November 8th. This WILL BE a close election, and again, Progressive support might make the difference in Rudy getting re-elected.
Andrea Romero
State House, New Mexico State House District 46
From Ballotpedia: "Andrea Romero (Democratic Party) is a member of the New Mexico House of Representatives, representing District 46. She assumed office on January 1, 2019. Her current term ends on December 31, 2022.
Romero (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the New Mexico House of Representatives to represent District 46. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 7, 2022."
If Andrea can get past her 2 primary challengers, she likely should be re-elected in the predominantly Democratic District which does not appear to have changed substantially with recent redistricting. Progressive support will be needed in the Primary election on June 7th. She is Emily's List endorsed and that will be a help too.
Stephanie Garcia Richard
Commissioner of Public Lands, New Mexico
From Ballotpedia: "Stephanie Garcia Richard (Democratic Party) is the New Mexico Commissioner of Public Lands. She assumed office on January 1, 2019. Her current term ends on January 1, 2023.
Richard (Democratic Party) is running for re-election for New Mexico Commissioner of Public Lands. She is on the ballot in the Democratic primary on June 7, 2022."
Stephanie has no challengers in the June 7th Primary. However, she will face a Republican challenger for this office in the November 8th General Election.
New York
Melanie D'Arrigo
U.S. House, New York Congressional District 3
From Ballotpedia: "Melanie D'Arrigo (Democratic Party, Working Families Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 3rd Congressional District. She is on the ballot in the general election on November 8, 2022. She lost in the Democratic primary on August 23, 2022. The Working Families Party primary for this office on August 23, 2022, was canceled."
This will be a difficult election for Melanie to win, and if Progressives want to see this seat going to a Progressive, support will be requited NOW, and through the November 8th General Election. Melanie currently needs to build her base and somehow distinguish herself in a field that includes a Democrat, a Conservative, and a People's Party candidate in the General Election on November 8th. This seat is rated in 2022 as Toss Up by Cook Political Report and Sabato's Crystal Ball, and Lean Democrat by Inside Elections. A Progressive running on positions that reflect what the people of American want for our country may be just what is needed to get a Democratic win in November. But support will be required for Melanie to win.
Mondaire Jones
U.S. House, New York Congressional District 10
From Ballotpedia: "Mondaire Jones (Democratic Party) is a member of the U.S. House, representing New York's 17th Congressional District. He assumed office on January 3, 2021. His current term ends on January 3, 2023.
Jones (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 10th Congressional District. He declared candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on August 23, 2022."
Mondaire is running in a District he has not run before, but as a nod to his LGBTQ leanings, he has chosen to run in the District which includes Greenwich Village, the "birthplace of the LGBTQ+ movement". Cook rates District 10 as Solidly Democratic, but this race is complicated by a Working Family Party candidate running in the General Election on November 8th. Mondaire will first be challenged to win the August 23rd Democratic primary where he competes with NINE other candidates. Progressives should be supporting Mondaire NOW to insure he has built his base to win the primary. If he wins the primary, he will be face a Republican challenger and again, that Working Family candidate who likely will pull votes away from the Democrats. Progressives in the District should be planning to get out the vote for and to vote for Mondaire in the primary on August 23rd and in the General Election on November 8th.
Brittany Ramos DeBarros
U.S. House, New York Congressional District 11
At Ballotpedia: "Brittany Ramos DeBarros (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 11th Congressional District. She declared candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on August 23, 2022."
Brittany faces two other Democrats in the New York August 23rd Democratic Primary. If she wins the primary, she will face a Republican and a Conservative Party candidate. If the Republican incumbent wins that primary, the same candidate will be on both the Republican and Conservative lines on the election ballot for this seat. This District has been rated a TOSS UP so here is another opportunity to elect a Progressive candidate to Congress. Progressives should be supporting Brittany NOW so that she can build her democratic base and win the primary on August 23rd. Progressives in NY should be working to get out the vote for Brittany in both the primary and the General Election. Progressives located in District 11 should be getting out the vote and voting for her in BOTH the primary and the General Election on November 8th.

She declared candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on August 23, 2022. She declared candidacy for the Working Families Party primary scheduled on August 23, 2022."
Although Alexandria was the only candidate running in the Working Family Party primary, she faced one other candidate in the Democratic primary on August 23rd. UPDATE: Alexandria won the Democratic Primary. She will now face a Republican, a Conservative Party and an Independent candidate in the General Election on November 8th. Progressives should be supporting her now so that she will decisively win the General Election. This Congressional District is rated Solidly Democratic in 2022 by rating trackers. Progressives should be getting out the vote and if in Alexandria's District, planning to vote for her in the General Election.
Jamaal Bowman

BNC PY DSA PY JD PY OR PY PCCC

Bowman (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 16th Congressional District. He declared candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on August 23, 2022."
Cook rates this District as Solidly Democratic. The challenge for Jamaal will be the primary where he is running with three other Democratic candidates. Progressives should be supporting Jamaal NOW so he can build his base and win the primary. UPDATE: Jamaal WON the primary. In the General Election, Jamaal will face a Republican challenger. Progressives in his District should plan to get out the vote and to vote for him in the General Election on November 8th.
Alessandra Biaggi
U.S. House, New York Congressional District 17
From Ballotpedia: "Alessandra Biaggi (Democratic Party) is a member of the New York State Senate, representing District 34. She assumed office on January 1, 2019. Her current term ends on January 1, 2023.
Biaggi (Democratic Party) is running for election to the U.S. House to represent New York's 17th Congressional District. She declared candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on August 23, 2022."
Alessandra faces a very challenging primary in that she will be competing against the long time Democratic Incumbent for District 17. If she is able to win the primary against the incumbent, she will then face a Republican candidate in the November 8th General Election. The District in 2022 is rated Lean Democrat by two Congressional rating trackers, and Likely Democrat for a third tracker. Progressives should be supporting Alessandra NOW in order that she can start building her base and win the primary. Progressives in her District should plan to get out the vote for her and to vote for her in both the primary and the General Election.
James Sanders Jr.
State Senate, New York State Senate District 10
From Ballotpedia: "James Sanders, Jr. (Democratic Party) is a member of the New York State Senate, representing District 10. He assumed office on January 1, 2013. His current term ends on January 1, 2023.
Sanders (Democratic Party) is running for re-election to the New York State Senate to represent District 10. He declared candidacy for the Democratic primary scheduled on August 23, 2022."
James is facing one challenger in the Democratic primary on August 23rd. Progressives should be supporting him NOW so that he builds his base to win the primary. If he wins the primary, he will be facing a Republican challenger. It is unknown what impact recent redistricting will have on electability. Progressives in his District should be getting out the vote for him and voting for him in both the primary and the General Election on November 8th.
