2022 race briefing
Bill Stephens won a special election for St. Louis Board of Aldermen Ward 12 on April 6, 2021, defeating incumbent Vicky Grass 51.5% to 48.2%. He served on the board from April 2021 to April 2023.
In 2022 he ran for Missouri House District 81, challenging incumbent Democrat Steve Butz. Butz won the August 2, 2022 Democratic primary 60.2% to 39.8%, a margin of 891 votes, and went on to win the November general election.
Stephens challenged Butz again in the August 6, 2024 primary. Butz won with 58.5%, Stephens received 31.9%, and Cydney Johnson received 9.6%. Our Revolution backed Stephens in 2022, and this card keeps PolRev’s record of that race.
