Candidate briefing
Connie Chan is a San Francisco supervisor and a 2026 Democratic candidate for California’s 11th Congressional District, the seat Nancy Pelosi is leaving. She finished second in the June 2 top-two primary and faces state Sen. Scott Wiener on November 3.
Chan immigrated from Hong Kong as a teenager and has represented District 1 on the Board of Supervisors since 2021. She has made taxing billionaires and keeping working families in San Francisco central to her campaign.
Pelosi endorsed Chan before the primary and has campaigned for her, and former Labor Secretary Robert Reich endorsed her in October. On October 30, former Washington governor and U.S. ambassador to China Gary Locke endorsed her, saying she will work to lower costs and expand opportunity. The California Federation of Labor Unions, the San Francisco Labor Council, Our Revolution and the Working Families Party back her. A late-October USC poll found the race within the margin of error.
Why Political Revolution supports her: she is the labor-backed progressive in the race to succeed Pelosi, running against the concentrated wealth that is pushing working families out of San Francisco.
