Candidate briefing
Monique Priestley, the Democratic state representative from Bradford, is the nominee for Orange County’s seat in the Vermont Senate. She defeated Rose Lucenti in the August 11 primary, 1,791 votes to 736. On November 3 she faces Republican Sen. John Benson, whom Gov. Phil Scott appointed after Larry Hart stepped down. Progressives should support Priestley to carry a working-family voice from the House into the Senate for Orange County.
