About this event
Indivisible North Curry County is hosting a noon rally and community action on Saturday, April 19th at the Courthouse in Gold Beach. In 1775, "the shot heard 'round the world" told the King of England that Americans would not be oppressed by an overreaching government. Paul Revere’s midnight ride started on the 18th and ended on the 19th, with the Battles of Lexington and Concord. On the weekend celebrating the 250 year anniversary of the start of the American Revolution, let our voices be heard. Let us stand together and remind our government that the rights of Americans are inalienable - they are our fundamental rights and they are enshrined by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
We will also be encouraging community action on this day. We stand in support of so many who have been impacted by the Trump administration:
• lots of people have lost their jobs
• the stock market is crashing
• people are losing their access to food (losing food stamps, food pantries are struggling to keep up)
• the price of EVERYTHING is about to go up
Bring a donation of cash (most helpful to Food Banks), non-perishable food or toiletry items to the rally and they will be distributed among Food Banks throughout Curry County. We are also asking participants to attend the Senator Brock Smith/Representative Boice Town Hall immediately following the rally at 3:00 pm at the Curry Public Library, 94341 3rd St, Gold Beach. These state legislators need to hear from us!
